For History SCM guides assign 1-3rd grade as read aloud by parent and 4th-6th is when independent read alouds are assigned, while the family read aloud is continued for everyone. If you look at the sample of the guide you are interested in it will show every book scheduled for every grade, including family books.
As for literature there is a suggested reading lists, but once again for younger those are often used as family read alouds.

For literature I pick and choose from many lists, and we always have one book I read to the family, one book for each that they read out loud to me (even 7th grader reads out loud to me daily), and then they have their free reading for fun books that are not a part of school, just what they enjoy.
