  • I am trying to lay out next years science and have questions. I have never embarked on a formal science curriculum, so I want to make sure I don’t bite off more than I can chew and hopefully be diligent about studying this subject in more depth with a simple program.

I saw the sample pages from 106 Days book and it looks doable for us. My son is almost 12, and my girls are 8 and under. Someone said that I could combine 106 Days with the next book, Consideing Gods Creation. But I don’t want to overload because I will not follow through if it’s too much! For those who have combined them, how did it work for you? How many days a week did you do it?

I believe the 106 Days book INCLUDES lessons for Considering God’s Creation for the older children (above 4th grade, maybe). SO, it is not like you’d be doing double. There would be a family reading and activity and the Considering God’s Creation assignment would be for your 12 year old to do.

    I THINK that’s how it is. 🙂

Sonya has already selected which pages you use out of CGC with the 106 Days lesson plan.  Very easy!

Yes, you only use parts of CGC that are already preselected (even the games).  We have already used the program (and plan to again in the future) and I wouldn’t have wanted to do 106 Days without the printables/games that were selected.  I probably would not have done CGC exclusively, just not my thing, but paired with 106 Days is great.  If you time when you are finished, I believe Sonya suggests that you go through CGC and do some pages/games, or whatever, that looked interesting.  We did not do that, but it’s a great idea if you need something else science-y to do.  Actually, I could use my own advice at times, now that I think about it.

    Enjoy!
