Hello,  I have been away for some time and have missed several discussions.  I am wondering if you all feel that Queens Language Lesson books would be enough for children.  I would be using the Elementary book.  I get caught up on them needing more…  I have 4 children I would possibly use with this book.

Any experience you have had with these would be of great help.

    Many thanks!

I like to use them in a busy season or for a lighter LA year.  They are independent work with a CM flavor.  Other years, we do more for Language Arts to cover more.  I consider it on the lighter side.  We have used elementary 1 & 2 and Secondary 1.

Thank you for your reply Wings2fly.  Yes,  I can see how it might help for a lighter time.  They are a little out of my budget, but thought I would see if they would not need anything added.  Then I would justify getting them 🙂

    Thanks!

I don’t think it is enough if you used it exclusively every year.  It can be enough for a lighter year though.  I added cursive writing to Elementary because the copywork is typed print and does not give guidance for penmanship form or cursive form.  For Secondary, we kept with Spelling Wisdom dictation too. He did that copywork in cursive because he knew it well enough then.  There does seem to be a great deal of copywork in all of these books, mixed with a little grammar, creative writing and picture study.  I like that there are 180 short lessons which can be done independently.  It has its season.
