I’m just curious… now that it’s been out a while… has anyone used it long term and liked it?

We tried it. Sadly I did not feel that it had enough content. It is written in a large font and each section is pretty short. I don’t know how anyone could use it as a stand alone for the whole family. I could however, see reading it to a 1st grader as a stand alone. Even as a spine it was just not enough for us. I felt that it was so basic that it was a waist of our time to read, so we gave it up. We used volume 1. Maybe the other volumes are more in-depth.

Thank you!  I wondered if that was the case.

I used Vol 1 last year with my elementary kids (2nd grade) and loosely as a spine/guide for my older, middle schooler. I added a lot of other read alouds and reading assignments as well as geography and timeline projects. We enjoyed it, but I take a pretty gentle and non-rigorous approach around middle school.
