    Ladies,

I have a question. I am 38 weeks and last checked was dilated and effaced. I am having contractions continuely but not long enough to go in.

So does anyone have any great advice OR any great stories on how or what got you to go in? I am just looking for something to help pass the days. I have always went at my own by now but God just isn’t ready so looking to laugh a bit.

So here’s mine.. with my 1st one (this is #6) hubby and I were out doing summer yard work I always had a hard time starting the weed wipper and that was my chore that day. Anyway.. my water broke in the garage while I was filling with gas and as I’m trying to wave my hubby in so we could go to the hospital he’s just giving me the just a minute finger as he pushes the mower away. Finally I started to wave my hands everywhere and he stops and says can’t you just wait a min. Of course my reply was NO I don’t think I can my water just broke. Well that sure got the man moving..

Well that’s the only one that we were doing anything funny. Hope you enjoyed it, it always brings a smile to my face.

    God Bless

    I love that – can’t you just wait a minute? 🙂

For our 3rd child’s delivery (we have 4 so far) my husband and I were both sick, sick, sick. He had a fever and had taken NyQuil to go to bed that night. Needless to say, he was less than thrilled when I woke him in the middle of the night. And I suppose I really could of waited, since I wasn’t very far along in labor when we got to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning, but it’s just no fun to labor without someone beside you, you know? I do remember him leaving the hospital room quite often to go suck down some more coffee.

Hope labor comes soon for you. Those last few weeks can sure drag on, but it’s always worth it to hold the little one!

Hi Misty! I was thinking about you just yesturday wondering if you had a baby yet or not!

With my third, it was my first natural without being induced. At 4 in the morning, I wake up hubby, his alarm goes off, and the song playing was “get a little closer” He makes a comment about do that with the contractions first. I nearly fell over!! LOL. THEN we get to the car, and he starts driving in the wrong direction, I asked him where he was going, and he says “can’t I stop in at work for a minute?” UMMM…..NOOOOO!!!!! I’ll never forget that!

Keep us posted, and I hope it comes soon or you!

Loving the stories. Joy – I’m like you when it really starts I just want to go! And Christina you make me laugh, my hubby would say something like that to, I could just see it.

Thanks loving the stories and hoping it happens soon. Asthma is really acting up and couple other unpleasent things.

    thanks ladies

    Misty,

I’m so excited for you and I LOVE your story!!

My first two were induced and with my third, we barely had enough time to get to the hospital. I can still picture my husband running through the emergency room doors carrying my BIG birthing ball – which I never had a chance to use —- baby was born in less than 10 minutes of getting there. 🙂

Praying that all goes well and that you have the Lords peace to guide you as you wait..I know it seems like forever but Gods timing is perfect. Remember, He is the great deliverer of your baby! 😉 Keep us posted as I know that all of us here look forward to hearing how it goes.

Blessings to you and your little one.

Oh I love hearing these stories. I hope the Lord blesses you quickly!! I just gave birth to my 5th on Christmas Eve. It was wonderful. It was our first homebirth and God blessed us so quickly that the midwife didn’t make it for the birth..so my husband and my sister delivered the baby while the midwife was on the phone talking them through step by step. Of course they were in hyper-mode..but for me it was blissful I just pushed Brody out by the GRACE OF GOD. And then two hours later we were all sitting in the living room opening Christmas presents. Mind you that I just sat there until all presents were open and then went back to rest. But it was such a blessing from God.

    May God Bless You,

When I was pregnant with my second daughter, I started having contractions 3 days before my due date. I was already dilated and effaced, so I knew once the contractions came, that I didn’t have much time. Well, they were about 15-20 minutes apart, when I realized that I had child care lined up for my little one and all my numbers and instructions ready for the big moment, but no milk, snacks, food, etc. in the house for my dd and my aunt who would be watching her.

So I hauled my contracting, 40 weeks pregnant body to good ole Wal-Mart to pick some stuff up. I stopped every few aisles to lean over the handle and have contractions, then I would carry on. Once, when I was hunched over doing my breathing, an emplyoee came up to me and asked if I was okay. I told her I was fine; the contractions were still far enough apart. Then she admonished me to hurry up so I wouldn’t have the baby in Wal-Mart. I just laughed and said I’d rather drag myself out to the curb in front of KFC and give birth than be known as the lady who gave birth in Wal-Mart! She gave me a funny look and walked on. It’s so strange the things that go through your head at that point in time, but all I knew was that there was no way I would have my baby in Wal-Mart!

Just so you know, I didn’t go into hard labor til the early morning hours, and my DD was born at 3 pm the following day. I was so glad I squeezed in those last few errands! Better be prepared than not, I always say!

Wishing you a blessed birth, Misty!

    Shelly,

Congratulations on your new little one. What a beautiful story; I’m sure you’re husband was thrilled (and nervous I’m sure) to deliver!

My husband and I wanted a home birth with our last baby but our insurance would not cover the cost of the midwife at home. However, they did cover the cost of a midwife at the hospital. This was the first time we had a midwife and she let my husband deliver our son while she directed him. It was so wonderful to have my husband hand me our baby.

Thanks for sharing your story and congratulations! I hope you can get that new image up and running so we can see that baby.

    Hugs!

Thanks Heather. Has anyone heard from Misty? Has she had her baby yet?

    No I have not! 🙁

I am having major back pain but that’s it. Contractions will not stay long enough or even consitant enough to go in. My dr said he’d induce me on Thur (2/5/09) if I haven’t gone by then. Which is GREAT “right?”

But my hubby is self-employeed and for the first time in a long time not only does he have a full week next week but even something on Saturday. So yes I want to have this baby but I don’t want him to miss more work when it’s there. AHHHH Also, my children are set to go to the dentist on Saturady.. Agian you might think so change the apt. but it’s not an option. This is through our Give Kids a Smile (a free cleaning for thoughs like us w/o denstal ins). So I will be bringing them one way or another.

SORRY for complaining and whinning I’m just ready. So if you could just put a little prayer that I might go this weekend I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

Misty, I’ve been thinking about you. Were any of your other labors induced? I have experience on both ends, if you’ve never had an induced labor and if you’re interesed in knowing more. I pray that God brings your baby in HIS perfect timing and with HIS perfect peace.

    Hugs!

    Misty,

I can remember being there this past summer! The delivery will soon come to pass st God’s appointed time. You have all boys, right? So do I. Do you know the sex of the baby this time? Be blessed!

All 4 of my kids were induced, so I feel your pain of wanting to wait on God’s timing, but if that doesn’t work, can’t it just be exactly on my time, not the doctors. (and yes I recognize the horrible nature of that run-on sentence.) My last one, I talked my doctor, who I worked with, into inducing me a couple days earlier than he wanted. Tanyn was not ready to be born and proceeded to lose weight and not thrive right away. Perfect example of not listening to God’s will, she’s fine now but I certainly learned a lesson. My husband is self-employed as well, we planned the delivery so that he could be off all weekend with us. My timing, not His. Praying for you and hoping that everything works out beautifully for you.

Marsha – Yes I do know what this one is and they say “girl” so it will be a whole new world for me.

Heather & Christi- yes I’ve been induced before for my asthma and all went great. I was over 38 weeks at that point also.

Waiting is fine I don’t mind (really) it’s just the latter of labor you know all the “false” things that are happening that I’m going come on little girl we are ready.

One thing that has been funny lately… Everyone keeps telling us she’s not coming out yet cause it’s to cold here! It makes me laugh cause I would stay in there to if I were her.

Feeling better overall today but back is sore and woke up with swollen fingers and coul.dn’t get my rings off with out ice cold water and soap. 🙁 No rings on I feel lost.

    Keeping in touch

    Misty
