Hi all.  I had to take my husband to the ER Wednesday evening with a severe asthma attack.  He’s never had one before and it was scary.  He’s healing now, but very tired and not fond of the drugs the doctors have given him to take.  He is going to go to the doctor on Wednesday morning to check up and hopefully off the meds.  Prayers would be greatly appreciated as would advice from those with asthmatics in your home.

    Blessings,

You and your husband are in my thoughts and prayers.

just a thought, have you moved recently?  maybe it’s an environmental thing?  Mold in the area for instance.  Or something he may be allergic to that he hasn’t really come in contact with before?  I know someone who had breathing problems from being around a certain plant pollen.  Just a thought, I know how scary something sudden and unknown like this can be.  Hope and pray you find the cause and that he is healthy in the future.

Thank you all for your kindness.  He has always had allergies, but over the counter medication would usually take care of it.  He has also had a little mild wheezing with allergies, but nothing that an antihistamine couldn’t clear up.  I think it’s just a combination of things over the past few weeks that really affected him.  We went camping the last weekend in October and sat next to a campfire for three days; where we live, there is ragweed and cedar pollen; then I did a spring cleaning of baby things and the garage; this time of year the weather is amazing, so no air circulation or filtering from the a/c or heater.  All of that in combination I think never gave his airways a chance to heal or return to normal and the result was a severe asthma attack.  I think we are going to look around for an air purifier for our bedroom (since it doubles as his office).

Thank you so much for your prayers.  He goes into the doctor’s office tomorrow morning and hopefully the doctor can tell us more.

    Blessings,

    Cindie

other things to remember is that anything new can spark an asthma attack (I also have this) new carpet, paint, furniture, bedding or otherwise.  They all have a very high amount of sent which can do this.  My oldest son is prone to have issues when we have done this and when we moved into our new home it was scary how he reacted.  So we will keep your husband in our prayers.  I have to mention that chiropractic has changed my asthma and if you are looking for a different way of treating it I would highly recommend it.  My prayers are with your husband. The doctor put him on Adavair for the next few weeks since he still heard wheezing in his chest.  When he wakes up now, his chest is no longer tight, so at least I know he’s healing.  He has another appointment on Monday morning for allergy testing.  If the doctor’s long-term solution is medication, we will definitely check out an alternative route.

I can’t thank you enough for your prayers and kind words!
