I was reminded of essential oils by two friends today and while I have some, I simply haven’t made regular use of them yet and had forgotten them. Since making a blend and putting it on dd, she’s had NO fever this evening and she’s coughing less. I am hopeful that it continues. Thank you all for caring enough to pray for her and our entire family.
Note – I am not recommending anything for anyone else, simply sharing what’s working for my daughter who has been quite sick.
I sure hope last night was a better night for both of you. I know you probably are already aware of this but I did want to share that vaporizers have worked wonders with my kids. The crazy thing is, not one doctor ever told me about them! A friend told me to try it and loaned me hers and I couldn’t believe how much it helped! I ended up buying two so that one would always be available.
Thanks, ladies. DD had a rough Wednesday night with coughing incessantly and spike a 104 fever again yesterday morning. After a couple of hours, it improved and she had a decent day of sitting in the rocking chair. Still exhausted, she’s also hungry, but eating anything solid tends to bring on the cough. Last night I dumped chicken soup in the blender and she ate a very small amount. She slept well last night! She had a coughing fit around 10:30 and I fed her crushed ice from Sonic Drive In until she dozed off around 11.(Who knew you could buy 4 lb bags for less than $2? I’ve never even been to sonic, but when we were wondering why refrigerators cannot make that wonderful ice and I looked on google and found there’s an at home machine, I thought neat. But it’s $3000!!! That same article told me sonic sells bags of crushed ice though and I’m glad because it lasts longer than the cups from the local restaurant.) All she’s wanted the last 5 days is crushed ice because it soothes her throat. She slept until 1:30 am, needed a breathing treatment and she fell asleep until 7:15 am! I am so thankful. No high fever since yesterday am. She’s sleeping still. She is complaining of her right ear hurting badly today, so we may need to look at that. It seems one step forward and two back at times, but I am thankful for the blessing of a decent nights sleep!
Glad to hear. Slowly and surely she’ll keep improving. Didn’t know about Sonic ice. How funny. And in my experience, ear aches/infections usually clear on their own in a few days. Hope the same is true for her. Best to you both.
Chick Fil A and Sonic have the best ice! I know people that buy sonic ice by the coolerful.
Glad you found something that is soothing for your DD.
My older son (who had never even been on antibiotics in his life) spent a week in the hospital 2 years ago for pneumonia (He was almost 6). His fever would not stay down even on strong antibiotics and his o2 would drop when sleeping. Even once home it took a while to feel 100%. I had pneumonia when I was young and it took me a while to fully recover.
DD slept all night and only woke to go to the bathroom and had one fit of coughing at the same time. It was calmed by some ice chips. She hasn’t had fever in 24 full hours and she was hungry last night. I made a monster 3 cup smoothie last night packed with probably 500 calories and she drank it all. I’m so thankful to the Lord! Two good nights of sleep and positive signs of improvement- praises to the Lord. Thank you all so very much for praying for my daughter.
