So glad you get to attend your father’s funeral. I will be praying for your time with family and for your trip.
hvfth99MemberLinda,
I am just catching up on the forum after a few busy weeks. I’m so sorry to hear of your father’s passing, but I’m so glad that you will be able to attend the funeral. I pray for safe travels and peace with your family in England.
Faith 🙂
dolot3ParticipantLinda,
Praise the Lord! I so hoped you would be able to attend! I know I would have been so unsettled about not getting to have the closure that is best for me…You will continue to be in my prayers! Thanks for updating us.
Blessings,
Lori
missingtheshireMemberHello Ladies, we just returned from the UK and attending my father’s funeral. God is gracious and good, it was a wonderful trip, the British Legion had arranged my father’s funeral and it was befitting a World War 2 hero – he would have loved it, the honor guard, flag draped coffin and last post played on the bugle. It was both moving and uplifting, a service of thanksgiving and celebration of a long and hard working life. My sister was cordial for the first time in many years, and that meant a great deal to me and made the whole occasion much easier to handle. We managed to spend a couple of days in Stratford on Avon, going to some of our old favorite places and that gave the girls a break as well as us. On our return home, we spent one day in Washington DC and saw some of the sights, we hope to go back finances allowing, so the girls can enjoy the museums. Anyway, we are back, laundry is getting done, routine is starting up again, and I am at peace. I came home with many personal items from my father; photos, his war medals and citations, the photos from his most recent memorial trip to Monte Cassino in Italy in May this year with his army friends, and some of his classical music cd’s. I will miss him, but am thankful I was able to say my goodbyes for now until we meet again, along with all his friends and family. I am so grateful to you who prayed for my situation, and so blessed by our heavenly father who smoothed our path to England, even though it looked impossible – for those struggling right now with issues, both financial and personal, ask for prayer and DO trust in the Lord always no matter what, He does provide.
It is good to be at peace again, and all I need now is my log in for the organizer – I seem to have misplaced it – oops. Anyway. ladies God bless you all.
Sonya ShaferModeratorSo good to have you back. And so good to hear of the Lord’s faithfulness.
Betty DickersonParticipantLinda,
Just now got to your post. It was neat to see the Lord work through your circumstances. I’m very sorry for your loss. I’m so glad the Lord granted you the opportunity to all travel to England. What a testimony!
Many Blessings to you,
