    Hello everyone. I received news today that my newborn nephew has cystic fibrosis. If you could add “Baby G” and his parents to your prayers, I would be so grateful. Thank you, thank you.

    Your nephew will be in my prayers and I will ask my friend in Heaven Michelle who also had this to be over him as he is growing. I know how scary this is and how short it can be.

    I have a friend who has 4 children with CF and I am sure she would love to be an encouragement to your family if needed. Let me know and I will pass along info.

    Thank you for your thoughts. I think we are getting over the intitial shock now and focusing on learning more about CF. We recently lost an adult member of our family to lung disease, so this diagnosis is particularly scary and painful to us at this time. I live across the country from the baby and it is frustrating not to be able to do much other than pray and be supportive.

    Shanna, I am already uplifted knowing there is a mom out there with four kids with CF. I know that as we learn more about the condition, we will see that there are possibilities for a fulfilling life. The good thing is that my nephew’s mom is fiesty and strong. That little baby is in good hands.
