    Tanya,

I’m using two books this year.  One geared towards the younger grades is Paper Sloyd for Primary Grades.  It’s in the public domain, so it should pop up with a Google search.  I’m sort of counting this as a handicraft this year.  We get out a bag of scrapbook papers, baker’s twine, rulers, and a hole punch and get to work!  There are 3 years of projects, although some are a bit dated.  Since my older DC missed out on this, they are joining in and probably enjoying it more than the younger DC!  We’ve made several projects like envelopes, picture frames, baskets, and bookmarks, while gaining confidence with measurements.

My older DC are using Compass Drawing which is listed for grades 4-6.  It teaches how to draw different designs using a compass.  The lessons are short and start off really simple.  My younger ages are joining along with it as well.
