Our school name is Heritage Homeschool. God dropped the word heritage in my path way before I ever decided to homeschool. Our scripture is Ps. 127:3 “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.” I haven’t read this scripture in a while, but just reading it reminds me how precious these little ones are to our father and how awesome the responsibility is in caring for them.
I think we often lose sight of the reward part in this verse. A reward is often given after accomplishing something. We, however, have the blessing of enjoying our reward before we are finished.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” I hear it so many times. If someone says they can’t do it. One of the children will repeat it right away. Sometimes a few will chime in. 🙂
I love all the ideas! this is a cool tread, I actually never thought of choosing a name. A street name would probably not work for us since my husband does not seem to be able to stay at the same place for more than 2-3 years!
I am curious though, some of you mentionned “they” requiring a name for your school. Who are “they”?
Nobody ever asked me anything. Maybe I shouldn’t jinx it!!
They in my state of NE is the State of NE Exempt School Division. When filling out my yearly Intent to Homeschool Forms, I have to declare a homeschool name. I’ve had friends leave it blank and the State assigns them a name – usually Family Last Name Home School. I decided that if “they” were going to give me a name, I’d make it one I liked!
Ours was County Line Home School, but my 20 yo dd decided when she graduated from high school that she’d like something else, and settled on Ambleside Academy. Since then, that’s the name we’ve used.
Our school name is Summers Christian Academy…we have to pick a name in NC or the state does it for us. My husband loved the idea if using our last name, so it was an easy pick. I love all of the creativity many of you have, this is a fun post to follow!
