Possible mistake in Spelling Wisdom book 2

    I am no grammar whiz so I could he missing something, but in lesson 14 there is no end quote. I dont see a note in the ULW teacher book indicating a reason for this. Am I missing something? Or did I catch a rare ooopsy?

    Thanks so much for pointing out that possible error. It’s helpful when people notify us of something that looks suspicious, and we appreciate your letting us know about what you found, Crystal!

    In this case, the closing quotation mark was left off to signify that Sherlock Holmes continued talking after the sentence given. There is a note in the corresponding Using Language Well lesson (student book) that says:

    “There is no closing quotation mark because Holmes continues to talk; the exercise stops before you can see the rest of what he said. Read the book to find out the rest.”

    Hopefully, the student will be intrigued! 🙂

    Oh dear, so sorry. I did the ULW lesson with my son this morning. I cannot believe I missed that. I was even looking for an explanation and I didn’t see it! My apologies. Loving the lessons.
