Okay here’s my dilemma. I hope someone will be able to help me.

My oldest son is a american history buff – he’s 13 and will be going into 8th grade this year. We are currently around the time of the pilgrims in history. My daughter is almost 10 and will be in 5th grade. She’s not really into history, but we have been using Truthquest and she loves to read the books.

I’m willing to go back to module 1, because we haven’t studied any ancient history yet, and there are already daily schedules made for that module. But, if we do that, my 13 year old won’t be able to get all the way through the modules 1-6 one time.

Michelle Miller, of TQ, suggests finishing up high school with American history.

So, would I just double up in some areas for him? or have him do some extra reading in his free time?

Are the modules really built around the traditional CM method?

    Thanks,

    Christine

Well, here is my 2 cents. OK…maybe more .5 cent.

If he is already an American History buff as you say then I really would not be concerned with him going through American History again. Because I would bet he already has a very good grasp since he enjoys it so much. I would think he would continue to read books in his free time concerning American History so there would not be a huge concern to get it in high school.

    HTH.
