Where does everyone get pictures for Picture Study? I mean like other than books, I’m looking for something I could hang even just like a poster?

    Thanks

    Misty-

I’ve heard calendars were good for that. It’d be nice if you could find some 2008s for really cheap! Let me know if you do.

I’ve printed some prints off the internet. GardenofPraise.com is a very helpful site for us when it comes to Picture Study!

You might want to check out the National Gallery of Art. I don’t know if they still do or not but they used to sell prints at a reasonable price. It looks as if they now have a program for loaning materials. It is free except you pay return postage on the materials. It may be worth checking out.

I also have now found a website http://www.allposters.com which had posters you can buy. Now I know that’s not great for it is a bit of money, but I thought if we just did maybe 3 and bought the lower priced ones it wouldn’t be to bad?

Just thought I’d share what I found today.

Also, Karen, I went on to the site and requested a cataloge. This looks promising also

    Thanks

If you dont mind postcard size you can order them inexpensively from Dover Publications.

Sometimes you can find popular ones (like Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”) as posters at local fabric and craft supply stores, like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, or JoAnn Etc. If you get a 50% off coupon from their Web sites or mailing list promotions, those big posters can be pretty reasonable.

I do searches on-line and save the pics and upload them to WalMart and have them printed the size that I want.

Taschen portfolios. Taschen.com They are 11×14″ cardstock posters (a collection of 12ish? in a pack) and I hang them by curtain clips across our big dining room/school room window. I’ve been able to find several of the portfolios at Half Price Books for $7. 😀

What EXACTLY are the little postcard size books called at Dover Publications?

    Thanks

Here are the Millet cards. That might help get you started. They seem to be entered under several different variations of the key words. You might try searching under specific artists’ names. I’ve seen Renoir, Monet, Millet, Picasso, at least. Some are under “postcards” and some are under “paintings cards.” It might be easiest to look through their catalog.

OH! I think I just found the magic combination of keywords. Look for small-format card books. The results won’t be only the artists, but at least you can find them there.

    Yes! Thank you Sonya!

Does anybody have any idea what “art stickers” are? The books have 4 pages and the size is 4 1/16 x 5 3/4 and are $1.50 each.

I don’t know what they are but I just got all but one of our artists on these “cards/stickers” for 13.40 that includes shipping. I thought I couldn’t buy a book for 6 different (of my choice) artist. Don’t matter the size to me we’ll use what ever. I’ll let you know when I get them what they are like.

    Misty,

Thank you. I would be interested in hearing what you get. 🙂

Just wanted to let you know that I got the postcard size prints in the mail.  As I said it was 13.40 for 5 different sets.  They are very nice.  They are small if that’s a concern for you but for me it’s not.  There are between all 5 sets (each set included 6 different pictures) about 3 that are not appropriate and will have to go, but dh and myself thought it to be well worth the $$ and it really wasn’t much.

The stickers are a bit small but we’ll just have to take really close looks at them.  I would stay away from them in the future but for this time it’s ok.

Good luck in your search, this one turned out great for us. Misty
