I really like all the cultural geography in the visits to series, but how do you add in geography terms (peninsula, continant, sea, biome)and things like map reading and the fact that there are 7 continents, ect?

The items you mentioned (peninsula, continent, biome, seas oceans, etc) come up in science courses and are learned during that course of study (often .  Lesson 1 of each Visits to…Geography Series guides directs the students to look back at “The Big Picture.  It is fairly easy and organic to point out the 7 continents (they are labeled) as well as the oceans.  On “The Big Picture” page, we ask students to note different aspects about the area they are getting ready to study (What is it close to?  Where is it in location to the equator?  etc).  During the course of the study, students will be required to label seas as well as major lakes and rivers.
