Has anyone used this curriculum before?  I was reading about it and thought it looked interesting but… My initial plan was to do the Plutarch’s Lives as previously described by Bookworm (Michelle). Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you, Monica

    Hello!

My daughter (14 years) just finished up using Philosophy Adventure. We have used a variety of resources over the years, many of which are CM in flavor, but not 100%. This past year was our first high school year

With that said, PA was my daughter’s favorite subject last year. The lessons about the philosophers were very interesting and she learned a lot. She LOVED the creative writing aspect of it. The Q&A were critical thinking type long answer questions, and although that part it typically not her favorite, she answered them thoroughly and it showed me how much she did retain.

This is a wonderful curriculum. One of our all-time faves! She wrote an essay/review on it here: http://homeschoolgiveaways.com/2015/06/what-my-teen-thinks-after-using-philosophy-adventure/

This is what else we did the same year as PA:  http://homeschoolgiveaways.com/2015/06/first-year-of-high-school-done/

Thank you!  I had read that review and found it very helpful.  It’s great to hear she enjoyed it.  All that being said, what are your thoughts on using it in the middle school years?  I see that the curriculum say “6-12 grades” but, after having used it, would you agree it could be used with a middle school aged student?

    Thank you,

    Monica
