I need another option for Personal Development. I’d like to have 2 books for the year because.. well… I know he’ll be done in a couple months so I was thinking fo doing one before the holidays and one after. My son will be in 5th grade and I will be doing Prudence and the Millers for the 1st book. Any other suggestions would be great Misty
the9clarksParticipantAny of the Lamplighter books would be good.
BookwormParticipantMisty, have you recently done any of the Bob Schulz books, like Boyhood and Beyond or Created for Work?
MistyParticipantYes we’ve done, or have all the Schultz books and love them. I am trying to space them about every 2 years and this would be his off year.
I was thinking to have him do the Moody series which he really likes and started the 1st 2 this summer. Also, I know there is a newer one I could get. HMMMM I should look into that. Thanks and any more suggestions very much welcome. Misty
houseofchaosParticipantThe R.M. Ballantyne books are good. You can purchase them or find them online at Project Gutenberg.

houseofchaosParticipantHave you considered Beautiful Feet’s Teaching Character Through Literature guide?
MistyParticipantThanks for the suggestions, I got 3 of the Young Men of Valor Series from Queens. Though they are short I think that will be a good fit. (I have 3 boys so one a piece @ least at reading age). misty
