How do you implement Pathway Reader comprehension? Do you use narration or do you have the child put a notebook together?  I’d really like to hear what others do.  I’m needing ideas.  Thanks!

    Hi!

It is my understanding that the Pathway Readers are used to teach the skill of reading.    They are not to be narrated back.  They are used as a tool for practice reading.  I don’t know if that makes sense or not but let me know. 🙂

    Happy 4th of July!

I use the vocabulary words introduced as copywork words, and we discuss their meaning before the reading practice time. I did order the reading comp books once, thinking I would use them as a catylist for discussion after any narrations, but really, I never cracked them open. They were typical workbooks that would have disected the life and enjoyment out of the reading process. Just my thoughts. I found that just improving vocabulary and setting them up for success with the newer or more difficult words was great in the early books. Leaving narration optional in older books really gives them freedom to think, and often they do share their thoughts.
