Last night when I was about to turn eggs that are still being turned I was jumping at the seems.  We have our 1st crack and a weee little peep!

We bought a incubator off of craigslist and wanted to give it a go.  We just took our eggs and put them in there (and yes we have a roosterWink who is always busy).  Today (saturday) was to be our “day” of hatch ability.

So though we had put the kids to bed I go a running up the stairs yelling we have a chick who is starting to hatch!  YEPPIE  They all come down and we have our 1st crack and peep show (sorry it just felt right Laughing).

Just wanted to share.  This morning I have 3 other eggs who have a definate crack, so more to come.  Oh and the little one is still in the shell but the opening is getting bigger and her/his peeping is more often.

What a great life science lesson!  What more beauty can God give to children but to experience the real beauty of life from conception (per say) to birth.

Hoping in another week our duck eggs will start to hatch!  Misty

So wonderful!  Love to hear that peeping from inside the eggs, it is the cutest thing!  Hope you have a good hatch!

That is soooo cool. We are excited to try hatching eggs next spring. We live in town, so we don’t have a rooster, but can buy fertile eggs through our local craigslist.

    Thank you for sharing!

Ok so I will not keep you posted anymore LOL but we have 3 little chicks running around our incubator now, a couple that have cracked and my dh is loving this way more than I thought he would and is waiting for the ducklings to hatch in happy anticipation.

I think we’ll be addicted now!  Oh, well we’ll have fun.

We have watched several chicks hatch and it is always a very neat thing, It never gets old! Our favorite thing is hearing the little peeps inside the egg as they are trying to hatch, you want sooo bad to try and help them out! Its a really wonderful thing to see!! We had 3 hens on 2 different nests and we were hoping they would all raise chicks, but as it turned out 1 egg hatched and all three hens left their nest and are raising the 1 chick…very funny to watch them, its almost like they are fighting over her! Have fun with your hatchlings!
