Hi! My 7 yo son is flying through the Billy and Blaze books by C.W. Anderson. I had hoped they would last a little longer, but he loves them! So, he has read nearly all of them. Does anyone know of any other books that are a similiar reading level that I might be able to find at the library? I have looked on the bookfinder, but it is hard to tell the specific reading level. I would prefer a series, but am open to other ideas. We tried Henry and Mudge and Mr. Putter and Tabby at the beginning of the year. The reading level was fine. He thought they were okay. But, he wasn’t motivated to read them like he has been with Billy and Blaze. But, I could probably go back to that if I can’t find anything else. Any ideas?
Rachel WhiteParticipantI’d recommend the author’s adapted verson of The Black Stallion by Walter Farley. It’s called The Black Horse. A beautifully illustrated adaptation.
Also, he would also enjoy the Thornton Burgess Collections of Animal Stories, the small books have less than 100 pages and are easy to read. And “Uncle Wiggly”, too. Dovder has two collecitons of Burgess (or one set of 25) and an illustrated “Wiggly”.

mrsjamiesouthMemberWe like the Thornton Burgess books, I just ordered a bunch off of http://www.homeschooldiscountproducts.com They were all between $1.50 and $2.25 a piece.
nerakrParticipantTry the Dan Frontier series by Dan Hurley.
wearejenandkevParticipantThanks so much! I found every one of these books at the library and have reserved them! Thanks for the help!
