One of our bean bag chairs was a victim of our recent battle with a stomach bug…… Does anyone have advice on cleaning it? It’s one of the corduroy bean bag chairs from target. The zipper on the cover is held shut with a BIG staple. I’m afraid to take the cover off for fear the “beans” are not in any other kind of bag.
Advice, please!
Thank you!
KaylaParticipantWe have had to do this due to 2 toddlers and a tube of diaper cream
KarenParticipant🙂 Did you take off the outside cover? Did the “beans” go all over the place or were they in a separate bag-type thing?
KaylaParticipantI typed more not sure where it went. We poured all the “beans” into a garbage bag, washed, then poured back in.
retrofamParticipantThere have been product recalls on bean bag chairs that open easily. Some children have crawled inside and suffocated:(
Please make sure you secure the bean bag somehow after cleaning. Depending on design, maybe sewing it with thick, plastic thread?
KarenParticipantAlright – so it can be done. Can you buy more filler beans, if we lose some in the process?
And, yes, I have plans to securely close-it-up after we’re done washing it. I have at least one girl who would LOVE to open up her bean bag chair – and I told her it couldn’t be done! Guess she’ll find out differently *L*. And then I’ll have to make it as tight as Fort Knox.
Thanks!
retrofamParticipantOur local discount store sells the filler.
I will sleep well tonight knowing that your beanbags are secured:)
KarenParticipant🙂 retrofam – thanks for the reminder about securing it. It’s amazing how children think of dangerous things to do- and as adults, we don’t even see it coming.
Off to let the beans loose! *L*
