I am almost done adding all of my resources but I am wondering if I can view it all? In the planning your charlotte mason education there are worksheets and one of them has a weekly schedule grid and breaks it up into family and individual. Is there anyway to get something like that with the organizer? I can’t view the daily plan because we haven’t officially begun our school year yet. Help! Is there a particular video I can watch to figure this out?

No, there isn’t a weekly schedule grid in the organizer.

You either have to look through the scheduler section – or change things to start today, so you can start looking at the daily plan.

Ok, I don’t really know where to go from here, lol. I want to be able to see a week at a time in advance.

The benefit of the SCM Org. is that it’s flexible. That’s why you have the paper trail of weekly schedule. When I need to see the week in advance (which is rare), I bring out my paperwork

You can see a day in advacne and they are working on a feature to organize the Scheduler so you can view your items according to the day of the week.

The more you use it, the less “urge” you’ll have of needing to see the week in advance. Your week probably won’t look the way you expect it to once you get started-hence the flexibiiity.

I know what subjects I do weekly without having to look at the paper trail and Mon. and Tues. science materials, etc) ; I leave the amount for each individual persona dn subjects to the ORg.; that’s why I enter the info. the way I do when scheduling the subjects.

Does that make sense? The week will “flow” with you.

The Organizer is not set up to do this, since it doesn’t already know what you are going to get done on Monday, for example, so it doesn’t know what assignment you will be on on Friday.  You can absolutely set up a paper schedule, I think most of us do, of what subjects you do on what days, but the specific assignments will depend on what you did earlier in the week.  Each day is a clean slate–you get up in the morning, pull up your schedule for the day, and all your assignments are waiting for you.  I find it a refreshing change from the schedules that frowned at me and stressed me out as it became obvious I wasn’t going to “make it” that week and get it all done.  Did you watch the Organizer videos?

Yes, I watched the organizer videos, but there were so many of them and I am very much a hands-on learner.

While I like the “clean-slate” idea and I will get used to it, I think it makes it hard for me to figure out what library books I will need to get in advance. It takes me about a week to get the library books due to inter-library loans/etc.

Do you all get up in the morning, get on the organizer and print out what should be done for that day from the organizer? I don’t remember that being talked about, just about the records part.

I usually click on the “See tomorrows plan” – and print it out the night before.

This year, with my oldest, I plan to print to a PDF file… I think it was using Chrone’s Save as PDF option in the print….  then my son can use the Adobe program to see what he needs to do – and can use Adobe’s highlighter to mark what he has done.  I don’t want him to use the organizer directly, as I tend to open and close things, or say see upcoming assignments, etc to specify exactly what is to be done….  but this way we will use a lot less paper.
