Missceegee, I had to download Suzukimom’s images to view them. If you could take a look at those and give feedback on how they compare to what you’re doing, that would be very useful to us in thinking about how this might work.

I agree with Miss this would make the organizer AMAZING, OUTSTANDING AND WITH EVERY CENT AND MORE to me.  I will also down load those but as Miss said here’s is simular but I would prefer the subject down the left side with the ‘lesson’ in the boxes.  Let me go look and let you know..

Yes Suzukimom’s is perfect!  I would like Sunday-Saturday just because of the many uses we use it for!  Glad to know you have your thinking cap on.

Would you like to share what’s in the works Jordan?? Wink

We don’t like to talk about what’s in the works because we don’t want to raise hopes for things that may still be quite awhile down the road. Software development can take a lot of time, so we prefer to let you know about the updates when they are ready. Smile

Jordan, I will take a peek when I’m by a computer. I can’t get Suzukimom’s to download on my iPhone or iPad. Subjects on the side and days across the top with lesson info in the middle would be fine. I simply condensed on my form so that my list only has that day’s work and no blank boxes. I could use either format happily. Ideally it would allow you to order the subjects, but that wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me.

Sorry the pictures I loaded are hard to access – they are on my google drive, shared to those that have the exact link.  When I’m signed in, I just simply see them….

The pictures I gave were just a clip….  the program I have the kids use does actually show Sunday and Saturday on them – I just clipped the screen image to show a few days.  (The weekend is at the end of the week….)

I’m another mama who would be VERY excited for a weekly assignment list!  We are currently doing an extended trial of the CMO and I am finding that the daily approach isn’t the best fit for our family’s needs.  Thus, I have been exploring other options (such as Scholaric) but I would prefer to support a CM company/family.  We would be ready to commit to the CMO for the long-haul if I could print out a weekly checklist for each student.  Missceegee’s example is excellent.  🙂

I have another small wish list idea: when schedule a resource for a particular date, it would be neat if we could click “recurring.”  (As in Google Calendar.)  We read certain books annuallly for saints/holidays/seasons and I have them marked in my Google Calendar but it would be nice to have it all in the CMO.

Thank you SCM team for your hard work and interest in the needs of your users!

I had a peek at Suzukimom’s. Yes, something similar that gives the actual assignment would be great.

Days across top. Broad Subjects down side. Resource & Assignment in box.

    or alternatively

Days across top. Subject/Resource down side. Assignment in box.

    Thanks SCM team.

Just to make sure everyone is clear: While we are discussing this feature and brainstorming how it might work, that doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen. We do a lot of discussion and planning before deciding whether or not to implement a new feature, and that often takes the longest time in making it happen. We want to make sure the Organizer stays simple to use and keeps its core philosophy of taking things one day at a time as we approach any new ideas.

That said, the feedback in this thread makes it pretty clear that this feature is something y’all would use and enjoy, and we are paying close attention to what you’re posting. We can’t promise anything at this point, but we’re listening. Smile

I create lists for my boys the about the same as Christie, minus the specifics. I’m very visual and must see a week at a glance, plus I like to print only one time a week

Thanks for the warning Jordan – I did realize that you guys are just trying to understand what we are wanting, so the programmers can determine whether or not to implement it, as well as how it might be implemented if chosen to be added.  (But then I was a programmer in my pre-family life…. so I am used to that type of discussion!)

I wanted to pull this back up and ask some additional questions as we’re continuing to brainstorm how this could work.

    1. Are you seeing this weekly view as just a printout, or would you need to see it on an Organizer page as well?

    2. Does it need to include the Worked On and Finished boxes?

    3. If it needs to be an Organizer page, does that need to have the Worked On and Finished boxes? (I think this would be difficult, considering that this would allow you to mark off work completed in the future, but I wanted to ask the question and see what kind of feedback y’all have.)

I’m thinking of this right now as a printout of a weekly chart like the ones missceegee and suzukimom posted, with Worked On and Finished boxes for marking things off on paper. Would that do the trick, or are you looking for more than that?

Again, we’re still just exploring this idea with no guarantees that it will actually happen. But your feedback is really helpful to us as we consider new features and prioritize for the future.

Jordan, a weekly printout would be great for me with the worked on and finished boxes. If it were an organizer page, it could simply be a viewing option, I think.

As long as it printed a week at a time I’d be ok with or without the Worked On/Finished option  I could easily just write W/F in the box as I correct/check my kids work.  Being my printout will not automatically update it wouldn’t be a big deal Wink

I would also think that the subjects doing down on the print out were in the same order (what ever that had to be) would be the same order as when I go in to actually check the items on the organizer off.  So I am not jumping all over.  So if the 1st one was bible on the weekly sheet the 1st one on the organizer would also be bible.

I think you’re right now Jordan!  Thanks so much for just exploring this option.  I can’t imagine what has to go into it and it’s very much appreciated!

I would definitely want to be able to see it online.  However, it could be an online view-only option.   I honestly think that I wouldn’t be printing it out often – certainly not often the way we are currently doing school.

That said, a printout could be helpful at times.  I wouldn’t worry too much about the W/F boxes myself…
