I just came back to the organizer after a couple of years. It doesn’t appear that any updates have been done or any features that people have been asking for have been added. I really need the ability to edit past assignments (ones that have already been marked done) and be able to add notes to future assignments. I also need to be able to take things off that might have been an accident. I added our math twice, not realizing I could have edited the schedule instead of deleting the resource and adding it again. Now it is duplicated on reports. Ideally, I would like to be able to see all future lessons as well, mainly to add notes to them. I don’t know anything about coding but it doesn’t seem like these features should be hard to add and many people have been asking for this over the years. This planner/organizer is almost perfect. If these features could be added it would be even more perfect. Make it available as an app as well and it would be absolutely perfect (at least I think, lol.)Jordan SmithKeymaster
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on the CM Organizer. We do know that editing past assignments and seeing everything ahead of time are two often-requested features. Both of those are still on our wishlist as we continue to update the CM Organizer in the future.YolandaParticipant

Let me give an look at CM Organizer updates, features, and maintenance.
First, new features. We all want new features, and we at SCM have a wish list of ideas that we would love to build and make available for everyone. We also want to make sure new features are done in a way that is easy to use and understand. And software development can be quite expensive. So we intentionally move slowly, taking time to explore new features and make sure we have them right before moving forward with building them. The SCM team is also fairly small and doing many things, so other projects can take higher priority.
Setting new features aside, there are updates and maintenance happening frequently. The CM Organizer is maintained by a development company which keeps all the software up to date and running smoothly. For example, just last week they did a small update that fixed some problems with creating large reports. Those kinds of updates are small and behind the scenes, but they are done regularly to keep everything working.
Right now, we’re focusing on maintaining the CM Organizer with the features that it has. It’s already a great record-keeping tool that many homeschoolers enjoy as it helps them stay on track without being tied to dates and calendars. We hope in the future to expand what it can do. But as we often say here at SCM, we don’t like to talk about release dates so nobody is disappointed when something takes longer than we hope. 🙂YolandaParticipant
Thank you Jordan for your response! I’m glad it’s being upkept behind the scenes. I use to use another homeschooling software and I spent so much time on it only to have it sold and then no longer maintained. So I appreciate the update. No pun intended.
Not sure if there is the place to request updates, but I would LOVE to be able to edit my progress reports so I can add a quick note next to work done. My kids enter in their own work and sometimes I don’t get to it fast enough to write a note. I understand this might take time, so I’m just putting it in the que. Thanks!
