I need help. I can’t use the organizer at all any more. I go into it and it gives me that error message (still). I can’t enter anything or save anything. So my schedule is all off HELP! I have aol, dial up and that’s about all I can tell you. But if you could tell me what to do I will. I’m lost without my organizer.
ok.. so I downloaded firefox and am using that and I am still getting this message of error and refresh. Mind you I was able to at least get through it and print off some reports/dailys. But still looking for answers
Are you using the Web browser software that comes with AOL?
AOL bundled a really old browser that can’t handle the modern standards that make a lot of today’s Web sites work. I think it’s an outdated version of Internet Explorer but rebranded with the AOL name. The CM Organizer simply will not work properly with the AOL browser.
The good news is that the CM Organizer works fine with just about any modern browser software. That includes Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer version 7 or 8. All of those are good, free choices, although Internet Explorer is the slowest of the bunch.
I found some information from others who had problems with AOL and other services (problems are quite common). Here are some of the things they tried. I have no idea if any will help but it might be worth a try.
Clear the cache (AOL 9.x)
Click Settings on the AOL toolbar. Then select Index on the Settings page and click ‘Internet [Web] Options’? under ‘I’? in the alphabetized list.
Click the General tab at the top of the Internet Properties dialog box if it is not already selected.
In the Temporary Internet files section, click the Delete Files button. A dialog box will appear that says, ‘Delete all files in the Temporary Internet files’. Click the OK button.
In the History section, click the Clear History button. A dialog box will appear that asks, ‘Are you sure you want Windows to delete your history of visited Web sites?’ Click Yes.
Click OK to leave the AOL Internet Properties dialog box.
Close the Settings window.
Exit and restart America Online.
Clear the web cache and delete temporary files. (This is from someone else with somewhat different instructions.)
Start AOL from the AOL menu bar
Select Keyword > Go to Keyword
type the keyword preferences
Click Go
Dialog box: AOL Settings: Customize your AOL Experience
Select Essentials tab > Internet (Web) Options – Set Web browser options and properties
Dialog box: Internet Options
Select General tab
Click Delete files
Dialog box: Delete Files: Delete all files in the Temporary Internet files
Select Delete all offline content
Click OK
Click OK
Optimize your browser settings:
Start AOL from the AOL menu bar
Select Keyword > Go to Keyword
type the keyword preferences
Click Go
Dialog box: AOL Settings: Customize your AOL Experience
Select Essentials tab > Internet (Web) Options – Set Web browser options and properties
Dialog box: Internet Options
Select Security tab
Dialog box: Select a web content zone to specify security settings
Click Internet icon
Click Default Level (which sets the browser to Medium)
Select AOL Browser tab
Dialog box: Web Graphics: Do you want Web graphics to be compressed? This will display Web pages quicker.
Ok.. Doug I did do all those things listed above and I can not use AOL’s at all. I have firefox now and am using it as I speak and overall it’s working fine, but it did not do 1 new assignment after I put finished on it.
So it said finished and went up above, but it showed the same lesson in the box still. Does that make since?
