    Hi,

    I don’t post very much, but I found a great website today. I’m not sure if anyone else has posted about this site, so just in case here is the link. http://opera.stanford.edu/op4all/main.html

    They allow you to access and download FREE digital versions of the Opera for Everyone series of CDs and the Teaching Manual for teaching purposes.

    (Website states)Opera for Everyone provides an excellent opportunity for students and educators alike to become familiar with the background and music of four classic operas — each related to a different important period of opera: Rossini’s The Barber of Seville (1816); Verdi’s La Traviata (1853); Bizet’s Carmen (1875); and Puccini’s Madama Butterfly (1904).

    Do you think this would fit in with a Charlotte Mason education?

    I think this is wonderful and easily fits with a CM education.

    Absolutely fits with CM education. I have downloaded all of those free files. I find them very helpful.

    Thank you for this!  I’m looking forward to using this. Interestingly, I just watched a DDurbin movie and she sings part of The Barber of Seville in it – she sings opera in many of her movies and over the years its probably been one of the major avenues of exposure to it for me and even my DD.  It will be good to learn more and understand it better along with her.
