Older student new to dictation

    Hi all

    I have a 7th grade daughter who is new to dictation. We started half way through the first SW book.  Our trouble has  developed, I think, because of jumping straight into dictation with that level of passages. It has been frustrating. She is an excellent speller, but the dictation is overwhelming. What am I doing wrong?  Should we do transcription  for a few months first? Should we start at beginning of book 1?  Thanks…

    I would either take a step back on the books, dictate a part of the passage, or try transcription.  You could even dictate passages from her current literature reading to get her used to dictation first.

    Thank you OuhadiFamily!  She prefers transcription.  Im going to try a combined approach I think 🙂
