    Hello,

I am going to be homeschooling my 2 daughters going into 6th and 9th grade.

We HS’d before about 3 years ago using Sonlight but the reading was too heavy and time-consuming. They spent the last year in public school (5th and 8th) and are now coming home for good. I am drawn towards the CM approach.

I do feel I need a little help in planning, so I am looking for a history curriculum. I was wondering if Beautiful Feet is CM? Or you can advise me to a certain curriculum that will help me get started.

I would recommend getting Sonya’s All Day Seminar and Planning your SM education on DVD from this site. With these tools it is really easy to customize your CM education. It is important that the children like their books and sometimes a planned curriculum can bomb if the books don’t translate well for your children.

For history I would pick a module from the SCM curriculum guide and customize the books according to age and preference. You don’t need as many books as SL offers. We loved SL too, but it was overwhelming and my kids did not retain as much as they do now with just a few great books. They will be narrating smaller chunks which will really lock in the info.
