I uploaded a picture of my girls to see if it works. This was taken last month on our farm. I asked them to look at each other’s noses and this is what I got….
Hmm.. it shows up in my profile, maybe I have to wait a while for it to show up here, sorry.
Yes, sometimes it takes a while for all the servers to catch up to the changes. (I probably have the wrong terms in that statement, but the general rule should be close. Sorry, Doug. )
The avatars usually get updated very quickly. However, everyone’s Web browser software may take different amounts of time before it checks to see if there’s a new version. Some Internet providers may also store images for a while to make serving them to you seem faster.
The end result is that some of you will see a new avatar image sooner than others and just waiting a while will eventually update it.
Hi, i wanted to show i finally made an avatar, and it really only took about 10 minutes to do (after i got the email link from the gravatar sight) I waited to do it cause im not computer techy so i figured it would take a long time to do but it went really quick!
So, if I sign in at gravatar, obviously I don’t have to have the same username there as I do here, right? But, somehow it will put my avatar in the forums I use that use gravatar? I’m confused…..(as usual when it comes to technology)
I believe it’s tied to your e-mail address, which is behind the scenes. So you can use whatever username you want, as long as that same e-mail address is part of your registration. Is that correct, Doug?
That’s right, it’s tied to your e-mail address. You create a separate account with Gravatar and register one or more e-mail addresses. Your Gravatar will then automatically show up not only here, but on any forum or in blog comments where the Gravatar service is used.
