Not trying to be redundant here, but I really want to make sure I’m with you all on Christine Miller’s revised books. (These are resources I have never heard of before.)

Christie, you prefer Miller’s revised copies of Guerber’s books over Guerber’s original writings, is this correct? I’m sure it’s because you were trying to be brief, but I couldn’t understand if you preferred the revised version or the original.

I’m sure you can all tell this is a big deal for me. I’ve been on the verge of a decision all day, but can’t decide if I’m going to be in the same boat as now. I’m usually so quick to decide on books and curriculum and usually successful, so this is new territory for me. Tongue out

Lindsey, I found Christine Miller’s versions first. I’ve not taken the time to compare to Guerber’s originals because I like the Miller revision. You can read sample chapters of all of the Guerber (revised by Miller) books at http://www.nothingnewpress.com. These are NOT the same books as the Famous Men series by Haaren and revised by Shearer.

Does that help? Just come on over and you can read through my copies and see what you like.Smile

Can I really Christie??? I’ll hop on a plane tomorrow! Tongue out

I read the revisions on Nothing New Press and like them alright. I wouldn’t say I’m in love with them, but I am glad they are better written than Shearer’s revisions of the Famous Men series.

I’m leaning toward purchasing Miller’s The Story of the Romans. How is the best way to go about substituting this book in Module 3’s lesson plans where Famous Men of Rome is used? This will be my first book substitution, so I want to make sure I don’t miss anything!
