I need some ideas. When Sunday rolls around, I’m exhausted.  I want to rest, sleep, read — basically, I need a day of rest. My kids are ages almost 6, 7, 9 and 11.

What generally happens is we come home from church, eat, I put on a movie for them and I lay down. But I’m not getting any rest. They play in the living room (my room is right off that) and end up waking me up, the little ones come ask me questions, etc. and I end up getting up so frustrated that I might as well have not tried to rest.

If the kids are quiet and still all afternoon, they have too much pent up energy for the evening church service.

I don’t remember this being a problem when I was a kid. Sunday was the day of rest and we rested. But I don’t know how to accomplish it with my brood.

    Any ideas?

Doorposts.com has a great book called “A Day of Delight” with a lot of great ideas in it! 🙂
