I am in need of a couple good nature study read aloud’s for next year. I have girls and boys and I have done a lot of Thornton Burgess books over the years and they do keep all listening but I need something new. Animals and adventure are always a hit but as I said I’ve done those maybe something down a different path? So throw some new ideas at me please.  Misty

Okay, I’m breaking your rule about animals and adventure, but have you read Rascal, by Sterling North?  Wonderful read-aloud, true story, mixture of nature, adventure, history, coming-of-age. It’s one of our don’t-miss books around here.

Or My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George?

There are many options to choose from on our living science book list.

We’re starting up The Lost Art of Reading Nature’s Signs by Tristan Gooley.  I’m not sure if it’s what you are looking for, but it looks really good.
