Hi!  I am trying to figure out some ways to combine narration and workboxes.  We have a  modified CM workbox-ish approach!   Smile  …….very modified…….      Here is what I am trying to accomplish……..One workbox has my 8yo’s reading in it.  I want him to read for 15-20 minutes, then do a narration.   I will vary the way he narrates.   But, I want this to be independent.  (We have several other times that we do narration as a family!)   I want to vary between oral narration (come tell mom what you read), written narration (not sure how I should do this-other than just write a paragraph), and “fun” narration.   Any ideas for  independent narrations for a third grader that I could put in a workbox?  Also, I don’t want it to take more than about 15-20 minutes.  Tall order, huh?

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

Some of these Narration Ideas might help keep it varied. You could probably have him do some drawing or building independently, and the list also gives some other ideas for writing.

Thanks, Sonya!  I looked at that awhile ago, but haven’t looked at it recently.  I will check it out again!

Sidenote……are you the one teaching the classes at the conference in KC?  I was thinking about coming….I would love to meet you!

Yes, I’ll be presenting the two all-day seminars in KC. I’d love to meet you too! Smile
