We meet once a month at a restaurant (LaMadeleine) at 7:00 pm, usually don’t end until they kick us out. 😉 The first year, we went thru “the Purple Book” (Karen Andreola), and now we’re working thru the modern English version of the original series by CM, in order. I advertised thru our local homeschool association and I send Anyvite invitation reminders a week before each meeting, to those I know are interested. (Each month, my ad in the homeschool assoc’s e-newletter, gives details about the book club and it says: “If you’d like an email reminder, email Ginger at the9clarks. . .” so people get on the list that way.)
I just act as a facilitator to the discussion. This last month, I started by saying: What did you all think of this part? And the discussion began with someone saying they disagreed with that statement of CM’s. That really got the conversation going!
Simple. And I love it!

ShannaParticipantWonderful!! I would love to have a CM group here but we are not a member of any groups. I wonder if it would be possible to start one with being a member of a group. I am sure it would be harder to advertise. I know there is a CM Yahoogroup but there is such a big difference in being able to talk in person. Plus, sometimes the discussions on there just go way to deep for me. LOL!!!
EsbyMemberThank you, Ginger, for the details. I was curious about how you did it. Your CM book club sounds really great.
