My son is in 9th grade and has been doing (and loving) Life of Fred Math. But he’s in Beginning Algebra and is learning things that are not included in most Algebra 1 courses. To help him, I often have to look at the answer to figure out what he’s supposed to do.

He wants to continue with Life of Fred for Advanced Algebra. But I’m questioning whether or not I’ll be able to help him with it. How advanced does it get?

I do have MUS Algebra 2, which I assume isn’t nearly as advanced. He doesn’t want to switch curriculum.

Does anyone have experience with either of these? I’m questioning what is our best option, here.

Hi, I don’t remember how advanced LOF advanced algebra is, but I wouldn’t switch a math curriculum against your son’s wishes, because you don’t think you can help enough.

There are many ways to get help. I would start with contacting the author of the curriculum, Stanley.  Last resort, you could find an online tutor to help only as needed.
