I’m wondering if any of you are using the app for MUS and the blocks.

Blocks are so messy and seems like it’s almost hard sometimes to dig through the box (I get so frustrated).  I think the app would be nice cause I wouldn’t constantly have to be searching for where the kids put them. 🙂        Has anyone used it?  Is it worth the cost?

    Thanks

I haven’t tried it. I would worry that the kids would lose something with not being able to touch and manipulate the blocks. If your kids are older of course this would be less of a concern.

I store my blocks in a tackle box like this from Walmart – http://www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com/blog/2009/09/math-u-see-block-organizer.html  I had the MUS wooden storage boxes and hated them and having them separated is a must for me.

I also have the app for my iPad. DS10 prefers the app, but it is somewhat limited. I can’t find a way to flip them upside down for subtraction for example.

Personally, I think using a variety of objects instead of just MUS blocks is important, too. I don’t find that the blocks are superior over the app other than for play value and certain limitations to how you manipulate them. I think the app was $2, worth it for that for me.
