For those of you who give your self say 15 weeks to get 12 weeks of work done how do you schedule it? I dont want to do 4 day weeks becasue it is not as flexible as having 15 days to use when I need them. I am a planner and my problem is that Mondays are not the same at Tuesdays which are different than Wednesday. So if we were off on monday we would miss Mondays work that week.

The Idea I have in my head is to just have a check list with each subject and we just do the next thing.  But I’m having a difficult time figuring out how to do that since some subjects are daily, others are biweekly and others are once a week. I’m pretty sure my pregnant brain is not working at full capacity right now

    Thanks

Subject Checklists work well, so does calling the days Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5 instead of Mon. – Fri. Just pick up where you leave off.

I plan 12 weeks of work and we have 16 weeks to do it. We school 5 days, but only 4 at home. Take a look at the samples here – http://www.charlottemasonhelp.com.

I make a 12 week term chart like you see on my blog – http://www.learningwithcharlotte.blogspot.com – and then checklists. I’ll hopefully post my dd12 and dd6 charts tonight.

I don’t know how others have done it, but I just plan out my 5 day weeks, so that the subjects are properly balanced, and then just move from one day to the next.  So far we have done 5 “days”, or 1 “week” of school, which actually took 2.5 weeks because we were gradually getting back into our routines, and took a couple of days for camping and a couple for a visit from grandparents.

Yesterday was a holiday and today was our local homeschooling group’s “Not back to school” picnic.  So tomorrow, Wednesday, we will start the first day of Week 2.  We’ll do 3 days, Wed., Thurs., and Fri., and then on Monday next week, we’ll be on day 4 of week 2.

I’ve used this spreadsheet:  http://evangelismstuff.com/lesson_planner/  which I’m totally in love with.

I planned out all 36 weeks of the year, and then each week it automatically pulls the correct information to give us our weekly plan.  I can adjust things just by moving things up or down in the column if anything gets out of sync.  Genius I tell you!

If you want to see the spreadsheet actually filled out as an example of how I’ve balanced things, send me your email in a PM.

    Thank you Christie!

Joann the link does not appear to be working for me. I have an excel planner i found somewhere that you fill each subject all 36 weeks, then you can just choose which week to print, it seems like maybe we have the same one.

Im working on just making a check list, so MUS Alpha is 30 lessons, I split it into 3 groups of 10 and that will be the goal each term, which will be 15 weeks.

Another option is to figure out 60 days of work (12×5) – and have those day plans figure out…  Start on day 1, then do day 2, etc…. untli the whole term is done.

Kayla, it does sound like we have the same or very similar spreadsheets.  Try just typing evangelismstuff.com and then following the link on that page if you want to try again to see the one I have.
