Has anyone in Michigan used the virtual academy here?  Specifically would like feedback on foreign language and science.

Wonder if they are affiliated at all with the Virtual Academy here in NH – I have come to find out a lot of them are.  Is it called VLACS?

My oldest DS, who is 14, has completed two years of Latin with VLACS and I highly recommend it.  His teachers have been excellent and the quality of the education is very good.  He has found the work and the amount of time it takes challenging, but he has done very well.

Beyond that I haven’t had much experience.  Several kids in our homeschool group use VLACS to supplement their homeschool studies, and one particular student is scheduled to graduate from high school this coming June with an Associate’s Degree thanks to the VLACS dual-enrollment option.

I discourage people from enrolling previously homeschooled kids full-time, even though that option is available, because the work is quite time-consuming.

Jawgee, it’s mivhs. org.  I don’t know if it’s the same, but will check it out.  Thank you for the input.  There are so many options out there.

In Ohio, OHVA uses the k12 curriculum.  If your Michigan Virtual Academy uses k12, you should be aware that it is Common Core aligned, if that matters to you.
