Next year I will have  a 1st grader a young kindergartenerand a 1 year old darling distraction:) I think at least one of you have done memoria press K enrichment. Do you have a review?  It looks more gentle even than the SCM enrichment 1. Anyone done either with little Ones? What do you think? I will add science to either. Probably the pond study. We are doing the outdoor secrets now and enjoying science about 4 days per week! Any reviews on Memorial press science books for Kids? I love the added books to outdoor secrets.

Correction should read memoria press science books in the K enrichment not memorial press science books for Kids 🤔

We’ve been using the MP First Grade Enrichment this year.  You can pick and choose what you want to cover…we skipped many of the literature questions and only read the book once a week.  The art and music studies are nice, and I like how they gently tie into the book.  The poetry is very sweet too.  We read several of the science books and they are very similar to the ones SCM schedules in their science guides.  We have yet to dislike a book scheduled by MP–they have wonderfully selected books!  We ended up using many components of the enrichment guide as a family, and I have older DC as well, who also enjoyed the music and art cards.  With the ages of your DC, it would make for a wonderful study.

Some benefits of SCM over MP is that the art cards are mich larger and focus on a specific artist for several weeks, so they get a feel for that artist.  MP jumps around, and my DC didn’t pick up as much on each artist’s style.  Same with poet and composer study.  SCM also schedules in more subjects, so you may want to add in just a couple like Laying Down the Rails or Bible memory with the MP Enrichment.

I will be using Pond and Stream next year with 2 of my DC.  I think you can easily do both MP and the Pond and Stream books.  That will give you three short science lessons each week.  The big issue here will be budget, unless you are using library books.  Those picture books can really add up!

I hope this helps.  We are going to use many SCM resources next year, with a few resources off our bookshelves.  I may continue with the MP enrichment guide for my youngest and get to some of the books we won’t fit in this year.  Both programs are really well done!
