McGuffey Original Readers for older kids

    Thanks for the help. I could use them without a comprehension guide. I’ve read by someone on here, that for comprehension, they just have the child read and narrate, rather than doing a program like Drawn into the Heart of Reading, which is learning about different genres, answering comprehension questions, pointing out character traits, etc. So, it really isn’t necessary for me to use something like that? I guess reading and answering pre-written questions is not really the CM way. At least for the younger grades. Is this where the literature studies come in the upper grades? I am definitely going to consider McGuffey Readers for reading practice.
