Science – I believe the Liberty Christian Nature Readers now have a K year – this is a maybe?
I just finished my plans for this year. I posted our first 6 weeks on my blog. I had seen someone else do with and loved how concise and yet thorough it seemed. I gave chapter or page ranges for the week, so hopefully we will still be fluid if something comes up. Sure looks like a lot when it’s spelled out like this… LOL This is for my 2 oldest–12 and 10. I haven’t finished “the girls’ schedule” yet. They are 4 and 3 (will be 5 and 4 just a couple months into the school year) and begging for “school.” I find that I often overlook them in getting the boys stuff done. I know I need to schedule a few things just to keep me accountable.
Actually, I haven’t changed much yet. We began most subjects June 1. I still haven’t started Picture Study, composer study, or hymn study yet. We’re doing poetry three times a week instead of one. We haven’t gotten a full week of copywork yet. I started science with big cats, but ds wasn’t engaging. After talking with dh last night, we’re switching to insects/spiders for about three weeks, then after that we’ll see. We’re still stuck on Genesis 1:1 in scripture memory. He just will not repeat it after me for me to know if he knows it so we can move on. I gave him his choice of Little House on the Prairie, Farmer Boy, or Charlotte’s Web. He chose Charlotte’s Web and seems to be enjoying it.
We are finishing this week, so that has been my main focus, but I think I have next year figured out. Though I do love to change my mind! We’ll try to start again by August.

I’m sure I’m forgetting something. And I’m sure it will not happen exactly as planned. At least it’s a starting point.
I finally have a curriculum plan together. I had to have a friend help narrow it down for me.
My children will be in 9th, 8th, 7th, 3rd, 1st, and a 4yo. We decided to SCM History/Bible Mod. 4. My 9th grader will do the 10-12th grade recommendations. I had bought him MFW’s Ancient History and Lit., but he really wanted to stay on topic w/ the family. So, here we are.
Family
SCM Module 4
(I added a Medieval coloring book for my youngest and Draw and Write Through History for my 3rd grader. I will be adding research projects based on what we are studying using Streams of Civilization for the 7-9th graders.)
We will also do these subjects together, but I’m not choosing the artist/composers/ etc. until right before each term. This way I will be able to choose what looks interesting to us at the time.
Picture Study (Audobon for sure)
Composers (we will do a Story of the Orchestra the first term as an intro.)
Nature Study (I might do a Queen’s nature guide during the winter.)
Poetry (concentrating on Frost one term)
Shakespeare (our first study ever! I haven’t picked one yet, and I’m thinking winter term.)
Drawing for the olders ( trying to get Draw Today, otherwise we will get books from the library)
Scripture verses ( I think from the 1st pack, + they have verses from church to memorize)
Rosetta Stone Spanish (highschooler will really concentrate on this for a credit)
God’s World News (different levels)
Read alouds: Pilgrim’s Progress, Bambi, The Railway Children, A Christmas Carol, Robin Hood, whatever else looks good. : )
We will also do family devotions with dad. I have a few in mind. I think we also might do the Walking to Calvary, and Walking to the Nativity from Queens.
