I just bought Math Facts Copywork because my children and myself really need to get our math facts down. I am just wondering how often I ought to put this into our schedule. Obviously, we will have regular copywork and it can’t replace that and it also can’t replace daily math. Maybe it could replace regular math once a week or something? What are your suggestions?

personally we do math drill work daily (and copywork and math) math drill takes 2 minutes here so it’s pretty easy to tuck in.

I REALLY regret not doing math drills with my girls (ages 11 and 9) daily from the beginning because as they progress in regular math lessons they cannot work quickly.  I’m considering stopping all math lessons for my 9 year old and doing some extra time on fact drill for her.

We do math drills 2-3x/week.  My kids all use http://www.xtramath.com and work through the four operations at their own pace, beginning with addition and ending with division.  I really appreciate getting the weekly reports from them so that I can see how each of the kids are progressing.

When you guys say math drills, do you mean like the timed work sheets we did in school? We are in first grade and in math u see alpha, we have done +0 and are almost done with +1. Would I just make a work sheet to do each day with all those problems?

We use Times Tales daily (mult/div facts) and Ray’s orally twice a week for mental drill.
