My boys age 10-12 would like to do a study about weather. I have the AiG Our Weather and Water book but I was also looking for some living books or other interesting books to go along with the study. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hmm, I’m not too familiar with any. If they were a bit younger or if you think they will enjoy them there are Magic School Bus books (both regular picture books and chapter books) on weather. Everything from tornados to electric storms to hurricanes to weather in general.

Thanks Tristan! There are so many delightful conversational books about animals, I was hoping there might be something about weather, weather patterns, precipitation, climate, weather information, etc.

YES! We still LOVE Magic School Bus! I think the age range is actually higher than recommended on some of those books..I mean I LEARN a lot myself…LOL!! Have fun!

I can’t believe I forgot – here are some, but you’ll have to wade through the chapters to find the ones about weather:

The Wind by Bendick – I like her books
Hurricanes, Tornadoes and Blizzards by Hitte

We used an awesome spine, The Weather Book, and got fun books out of the Juv NF section of the public library when we studied it quite a while ago. Here’s a link to The Weather Book.

What great suggestions! @TailorMade: I’ve seen the science books before by Michael Oard and have wondered about them. What ages would you suggest they be used for? Are they a narrative of the subject or do they read more like a textbook. Thanks!
