    Hi,

I am looking for character type study books for my 12 year old boys adn15 year old girl.  I looked at the ones listed on the curriculum here and one we have already done, and one looks like it is for a bit older audience.  I would love any suggestions!!

    thanks

My ds12 is reading (and enjoying!) Boyhood and Beyond by Bob Schultz.  I am not sure if I will next have him read Created for Work or Practical Happiness (both by the same author).  I do not have girls so I am no help there!

Here are some of our favorite books for character building / personal development.

Have you thought of Lies Young Women Believe by Nancy Lee DeMoss?  There is also How to Be A Lady by Harvey Newcomb (an older book).

I haven’t read it, but “Before you find Prince Charming” is on my list for when my daughter hits that age. We use Boyhood and Beyond and Created for Work for our 12yo son. Also, the What We Believe series is really fascinating and brings up great discussion and worldview topics. I think there is “Who is God?”, “Who Am I?”, “Who is My Neighbor”, and “What on Earth can I Do?”. We are also reading books by Watchman Nee and Deitrich Bonhoeffer for character development – your 15 year old may be ready for those.
