Logic: Fallacy Detective or Art of Argument

    Hmm.  I’ve never had the videos.  I can see it being a bit challenging if they are all new to the material.  I have used the Bluedorn’s materials younger, although these are a bit ambiguous and not so clear. If you have a good arguer in the class, he or she will almost certainly challenge some of what’s in there.  You should have heard my kids.  LOL  I’m not sure what else might work.  I wonder about the newer Critical Thinking book; it is called Basics of Critical Thinking.  It seems workbooky to me from the sample.  We have also done Ed Zaccarro books but they tend to be very math-y–kind of problem-solving with math strategies and logic.  The only other thing I can think of might be too short.  It is called the Great Chocolate Caper.  It’s a mystery type thing that teaches logical skills.  It would be well suited to a class.  We did it earlier this year with my youngest, 12 at the time.  He enjoyed it.
