Letters from Egypt discouragement

When I first read this thread, I didn’t get it.  My eight year old and I were really enjoying The Letters from Egypt book.  Today we began Letter IV.  I couldn’t even read the first half as scheduled.  It really took a nose dive for us, for many of the same reasons others stated above.

 I add this for future planners.  I reccomend saving this book for the middle school years.  Visits to Africa is still a wonderful resource for my eight year old, but I think I will set this particular book aside for the future.
