Can anyone tell me the resources for math facts memorization practice? I reseached a month ago and totally forgot what I was looking at. I know Math Facts is one…..
Laura.boraParticipantRapid Recall is another one.
JenniParticipantHere’s a link I was just looking at… http://www.homeschoolmath.net/
Not sure if I can recommend, but it has lots of links to even more free online stuff. Some ads, but not too awful – most curriculum or commercial programs.
melindab72MemberWhich is the one where you race cars, and the other cars are your last best scores?
LindseyDParticipantI second Rapid Recall.
missceegeeParticipantThird vote for Rapid Recall.
Oh, that one is Quarter MIle Math
momma_pajamaParticipantMy son loves Reflex Math! We used Xtramath for a while but he really hated it.
melindab72MemberJust tried Xtramath today. They love it!!! I have never seen my younger dd this excited about math in all her life. I was worried that because it’s free it would keep their attention, but they begged to do more. Maybe that’s partly because I never let them play computer games, they never use the computer at all actually. So it’s easy to please them. LOL I like how they can do it from start to finish without me (makes them feel good), and I like live action guy guiding them.
suzukimomParticipantWe have done Xtramath on and off for a short time. We did it for about a week and a half daily, and then we stopped – but my daughter went in and did it on her own today.
I don’t know if this is true of kids in general – but my kids scores seem to be dropping in it…. so I’m no longer requiring it…. But it was really good for me to see which ones my kids are struggling with. I think my kids just on’t work well with that type of thing or something…
Khan Academy is another good free resource for math (we aren’t using it either though…)
Rachel WhiteParticipantSome others are Learning Wrap Ups – addition, subtraction, multiplication, division – and via music. We use Classical Math with Classical Music from Sing n’ Learn, too.
marmiemamaParticipantWe have used Calculadder workbooks for years with great results. But I think their prices have really increased, so I purchased the downloads and I print them out. Bit of a pain to remember to do it, but I really like them. I do have one dd who is still struggling so I am looking at different options. I looked at Quarter Mile Math but it’s not supported with Mac’s.
