Language Arts question?

  • Hello all,

We have had a great rest of the year with Phonics Pathways and reading real books. I have a 9yo and 7yo that need explicit language arts instruction. What do you use with your kiddos that have special learning needs especially in the language area? I have a 9yo with HFA that understands language in concrete terms and a daughter with reading comprehension delays. We suspect she also falls on the spectrum. They both like read alouds and my son has even started to understand some poetry thanks to a year of Robert Lewis Stevenson studies.

    Thanks…

Hi.  What type of language arts instruction are you looking for specifically?  More phonics and reading?  Usage?  Parts of speech?  Maybe someone would be able to recommend something if we know exactly what you are looking for.

How about just continuing for now with the Pathway program? I was very pleased with the workbooks that come with the program and the gentle introduction of language arts and grammar. You can go with the PW program all the way through highschool if I remeber right. just thinking, why changing it if it worked for you?:)

    Blessings Christine
