Are these worthy of adding to my collection as I find them at good prices? I think I have one here somewhere, but I’ve not read it yet and I know there are several authors. I’d love some opinions about the series.

    Thanks,

Most of the ones we have read are good. There are a few that we have found to be boring. I am glad that I have them because they help fill in the history between the big events.

I have almost all of them in my lending library.  Most we’ve read have been very good.  The American Revolution we just simply couldn’t get through.  SO boring.  I caution you about Fosdick’s books. He wrote the ones on Jesus, Paul and also Martin Luther.  I own them just as part of my collection but I always warn my patrons before checking them out.    Here is a link to a review of his books.

As you’re searching for living books, I also recommend the Signature series.  These are well-written biographies.  The We Were There’s are popular in my library as well.  Piper, North Star and Winston Adventures are also ones to pick up.

    Enjoy.
