ParticipantJoanna, WOW!
I have decided that Bookworm is the go-to-mom for all things Language Arts and Latin. Now, YOU are the go-to-mom for all things MATH!
I was doing a math search on the forum because I will have to discontinue our current math curriculum. I like it, but it is a PDF file and I have to print it out. To make a long story less long, I do not have a computer and printer that are compatible right now and print shop prices are OUTRAGEOUS!! Soooo, do you recommend a particular curriculum for the elementary years. I agree about learning the basics, but I really like an outline to follow. I’m an ex-school teacher, and while I am confident that I CAN teach each concept, it helps to have a guide. I don’t have the extra time or energy to come up with a day-by-day math plan. I’d love some advice.
Thanks!
Jennifer

ParticipantFYI….
Some of you probably didn’t know that Joanna is taking an extended break from the internet these days. You can read about her reasons here:http://simplycharlottemason.com/scmforum/topic/joanna-update, but in a nutshell, she and her family had been going through some illnesses and she decided to make some serious dietary changes for her family. So, she probably won’t reply to your post today. However, she did say that we could send her a private message and it would be forwarded to her email inbox. Then, she can return the message as soon as she is able.
HTH,

ParticipantAlso, to answer the question about elem. Math programs, Joanne recommended Rightstart. She had other fact filled math posts.
If Rightstart is out of budget, they have the “original” program on their site that is much less scripted and laid out but also much cheaper. On my cell right now, will give more info later if you want.

ParticipantThank you, Sue. You do a great job of pointing me in the right direction! (I think you did the same in another post of mine!)
Thank you Suzukimom. I will look into this. I certainly don’t want to hassle Joanne during her difficulties. My concerns are petty compared to her family’s health needs. I do appreciate all the moms on this forum – very helpful.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Participant@Jennifermason – If you have any type of device that uses apps, you can use the PDF in Notability and write the answers on the screen with a finger or a stylus. Then you don’t have the expense fo printing.
